Minna Kangasmaa (FI) | Pernille Egeskov (DK)
The exhibition's title Take Care carries a double meaning. The word "care" means concern and interest. The title can be understood as both an exhortation and a plea: a request for care and concern or a call to be careful and cherish. We live in the cross wave of these meanings. On the one hand, we become more and more aware of our own limits, frailties, and the importance of close relationships, and on the other hand, we must shift our interest from personal to collective, to how care touches more broadly – the community, the climate, the diversity of life – everything on this planet. In the exhibition, the two Nordic artists the Danish visual artist Pernille Egeskov from Copenhagen and the Finnish sculptor Minna Kangasmaa from Oulu, illuminates the multiple meanings of the title Take Care, from portrayals of familial relations and societal structures to gestures of empathy, evoking vitality, and explorations of absence.
